Acted has been present in Uzbekistan since 1999 and today remains one of the most active international NGOs in the country, in the areas of Civil Society Development, Transparent and Effective Governance Advancing women's rights and economic empowerment, Prevention of Gender-Based Violence, Natural Resources Management and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Green economy and climate change, Inclusive Rural Development, Integrated water resources management, Biodiversity conservation, Labour Rights.

Context of the position and key challenges

Acted's multi-donor program "EQUALITY: Enhancing Women's Rights and Empowerment in Uzbekistan" Phase II that will be implemented in different regions of the country through Acted's local partners.
The project "Equality (EQT): Advancing Women's Rights and Empowerment in Uzbekistan" as part of its regional Central Asia program EQUALITY Phase II, aims to enhance gender equality in Uzbekistan by preventing and responding to GBV needs, promoting the economic empowerment of women and improving advocacy efforts supporting gender-inclusive participation. Moreover, it is informed by ongoing gender equality support activities, insights from past and ongoing projects led by Acted and its partners and a detailed stakeholder analysis. The design looks to respond to the social, political and economic challenges women face in Uzbekistan that impact their wellbeing as well as opportunities and recent regulatory changes on the policy level. The project is designed on three outcomes, which will increase the effectiveness of GBV prevention and response mechanism benefiting community members, empower and capacitate vulnerable women economically, and enhance local CSOs capacities to participate and influence decision making on gender legislation/its implementation as well as advocacy on local and national level.
The project will be implemented in Khorezm, Qashqadarya, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions which will bolster efforts on improving gender equality and support vulnerable women and girls in marginalized areas in line with Acted's Leave No One Behind (LNOB) approach.

The Project Assistant ensures support for timely implementation of multi-donor EQUALITY Phase II Programme activities and assists in implementation of Programme activities in a timely and professional manner, according to objectives, goals and indicators and in line with financing agencies' requirements and based on beneficiary needs.

Key roles and responsibilities

1. Project Implementation, Documenting and Compliance
a) Ensure project records and documents, in particular documents that proof completion of activities (beneficiary lists, minutes, completion certificates, attendance sheets, etc.) are adequately prepared, compiled and filed according to ACTED procedures and donor specific procedures;
b) Assist the Project Team to plan, implement and document project activities and events through preparation of documents, agendas, communications, logistics and minutes-taking as required.
c) Help maintaining a beneficiary master database containing all beneficiary registration and baseline information as well as the activities from which the beneficiaries benefitted ensure the data is protected from misuse in line with ACTED's data protection policy;
d) Perform document translation, editing and proofreading as required
e) Respect ACTED's code of conduct, FLATS procedures and donor requirements.
f) Liaise with Finance, Logistics, Administration, Transparency and Security (FLATS) departments to help ensure project compliance with Acted procedures and donor requirements.
g) Conduct research and prepare thematic briefs and updates for the Project Team when requested.
h) Prepare posts for social media and design info materials for using during the project implementation.

2. Internal Coordination
a) Support the Project Team to prepare regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Project Manager and coordination;
b) Organize, prepare agendas and take minutes for internal project coordination meetings;
c) Participate in other internal coordination meetings as required.
d) Prepare documents (order forms, payment requests, etc.) for and liaise with Finance, Logistics, Administration, Transparency and Security (FLATS) departments for project-related orders, payments and administrative procedures.

3. External Communications
a) Regularly collect, draft and prepare visual communications materials, social media updates, success stories, photo stories and other project visibility actions in close cooperation with the Project Development Department (PDD)
b) Support the organization of external events, for example preparation of participant lists, agendas and invitations.

4. Other
a) Attend and provide assistance to field missions, monitoring visits and external events with the project team as requested
b) Provide pro-active support to the project team in all activities and procedures pertaining the project
c) Conducting administrative tasks, filing, phone calls and other activities as may be needed by Line Manager;
d) Providing assistance and information, as necessary, to project team, AMEU and Project Development departments;
e) Actively participate in elaboration of any relevant tools, methodology of project activities
f) Dissemination of project reports amongst stakeholders
g) The Project Assistant may be required to travel to field trips within the regions of Uzbekistan.
h) Any other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Professional requirements • Bachelor's in social sciences, politics, law, or another relevant field with at least up to 2 years professional experience; OR relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in international donor funded projects;
• Demonstrated motivation to work in the field of social development;
• Good communication skills, ability to work in a team, and personnel management skills;
• Fluency in Uzbek, English, Russian;
• Skills of info materials designing, and good skills on working with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva
• Autonomous, flexible, solution-oriented and motivated;
• Commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in all activities.
