Project Description In 2023, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) approved a 5-year (2024 – 2028) project for the Republic of Uzbekistan entitled Integrated Rural Development (IRD) Project in Uzbekistan that is financed and executed by the IsDB in response to an official request from the Government of Uzbekistan. The Project will be implemented under the National Implementation Modality (NIM) with the MEF playing an executing entity's/implementing partner's role for it. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) County Office in Uzbekistan is responsible for Component B: Consultancy services for rural infrastructure development - Community empowerment. The Driver will be contributing to the achievement of the project outputs through the organization of the transportation aspects of the project activities. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Drive the office vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel, including international experts; 2. Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items, meet official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities and make errands for the project as required; 3. Be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, buttery, brakes, tires, etc.; 4. Perform minor repairs and arranges for other repairs; 5. Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing; and report to PM on a monthly basis; 6. Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean; 7. Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident; 8. Support with customs clearance procedure of the project. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization. |

| Professional requirements | Cross-Functional & Technical competencies Business Management: Communication: 1. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner both through written and verbal communication; to tailor messages and choose communication methods depending on the audience 2. Ability to manage communications internally and externally, through media, social media and other appropriate channels Administration & Operations: 1. Vehicle management: Knowledge of policy & procedures on fleet management Required Skills and Experience: 1. Education: Secondary education is required. A valid driving license is required (category B) 2. Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience as a driver with a safe driving record. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair. 3.Required skills: Previous work for an international organization and companies would be considered an advantage 4. Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section: - Honesty, responsibility, responsiveness, punctuality; - Client orientation, ability to work in a team. 5. Required Language(s) (at working level): Fluency in Uzbek and Russian is required. Knowledge of English is advantage. |
