Background:
The Office of the Head of Mission of PCUz (OHOM) is responsible for ensuring the Mission's visibility in relation to the implementation of OSCE commitments. This includes upholding the highest standards for its communication products. However, the current in-house capabilities of the PCUz do not fully meet the demands for professional photography and video. For this reason, the OHOM requires the services of a skilled photographer to produce high-quality photo and video content. This will enhance the overall quality of the Mission's communication products and, in turn, improve the visibility of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and its activities.
The photographer will be invited to attend selected OSCE events in the country and produce high-quality photographs in both high and low-resolution formats, suitable for use in both printed materials and online.
Objective:
The objective of this professional service is to capture and provide high-quality, high-resolution images to document the OSCE PCUz's events and to illustrate field activities and projects for use in various print and digital communication products. The selected images and photo sets will be incorporated into a variety of communication products, including both internal and external publications, leaflets, reports, and online communications. All candidates who will be included in the OSCE PCUz roster of photographers and contacted for photography tasks on an as-needed basis, throughout the year.
All photographic material produced at the request of the OSCE shall be the property of the OSCE.
Services/Duties:
• Take and process professional photos and videos with own equipment for the OSCE website, social media or publications in the time intervals and in the locations indicated by the programme/project managers;
• Provide high-quality digital photographs (edited and unedited originals) and videos using his/her own equipment/software to be used in OSCE publications, social media and website
• If requested, to conduct trainings and provide advice for the PCUz team on taking photos, using the office camera
• Perform any other relevant photography-related tasks as requested. |

Professional requirements |
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in reportage photography/photojournalism (with a portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work shall be submitted with the application) • Relevant certifications or diplomas in photography would also be an asset • The photographer must have good command of own photographic equipment (cameras, lenses, lights, filters, tripods), as well as photo-related image editing software. • Good knowledge of technical requirements and settings for taking photos in various settings (i.e. outdoor, indoor, portraits, group activities etc.) is expected; • Extensive experience with high‐resolution digital photography; • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity; • Customer-service oriented; • Ability to work in a confidential environment and maintain a high level of discretion; • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities; • Cultural sensitivity and judgment. |

Remuneration package: The remuneration will depend on the qualifications and experience of the individual expert and will be based on the current OSCE consultancy rates for local experts.

PCUz conducts activities in all regions of Uzbekistan. Therefore, photographers based in also other cities than Tashkent are encouraged to apply.
If necessary, the PCUz will cover travel and accommodation expenses when the event is taking place outside of Tashkent city/province. |
