| Duties | The British Embassy in Uzbekistan is part of the world-wide UK network working on behalf of British political, development, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to recruit a Handyman. Main purpose of job: The successful candidate will be expected to deal with general maintenance works, will be responsible for performing repairs at the Embassy and the premises of the Embassy as needed. Roles and responsibilities: • General duties include general garden maintenance, equipment maintenance (power generators, HVAC), decorating, plumbing services, electrical checks and repairs, carpentry, appliance installation • Responsible for carrying out the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule and for undertaking any minor repairs in the embassy, and UKB residences • Preventative and reactive maintenance in all the houses and residence • Flagging and reporting to Estates Manager on any actual or potential breakage and responding appropriately on elimination and damage control • Provision of drinking water to office, Residence and houses on a timely manner. |

| Professional requirements | Essential on arrival: • Valid local driver's ID (B category); • Good communication skills; • Excellent time management skills; • Ability to work under pressure; • Ability to prioritize; • Pass a competency-based driving test set by the British Embassy; • Good level of written and spoken Uzbek and Russian; basic English; • Previous responsive maintenance background and minimum three (3) years of experience in the maintenance support work and electrical works. Desirable: • Proactivity, strong analytical and problem solving skills. Confident of facing the challenges and overcoming the problems; • Basic English |

| Additional information: | Terms and Conditions: This is a permanent full-time contract (40 hours per week). The successful candidates will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance. Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Uzbekistan are subject to the terms and conditions of service according to local Uzbek employment law.
