| Duties | Purpose of the Role The Head of Training & Support leads the Training & Support team in developing Fellows into effective teachers and leaders for educational equity and excellence in Uzbekistan. This is a senior leadership role that combines strategic vision, instructional expertise, people management, and external partnership-building. The Head of Training & Support will design and oversee all Fellow training – from the Summer Institute through ongoing coaching and professional development while building a high-performing team of Coordinators and ensuring that TFU's program quality is evidence-based, continuously improving, and aligned with organisational strategy. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Training & Support contributes directly to TFU's strategic direction and external positioning. Key Leadership Competencies Program Design & Delivery • Design and lead the Summer Institute and all ongoing Fellow development programming. • Own the training curriculum and ensure it reflects current best practice in pedagogy, leadership development, and classroom instruction. • Establish and maintain systems for monitoring Fellow performance and student outcomes using quantitative and qualitative data (including Panorama surveys, classroom observations, and diagnostic tests). • Generate insights on education, teaching quality, and leadership development that contribute to TFU's evidence base and public positioning. Team Leadership & Development • Set clear expectations and provide structured coaching to ensure high-quality Fellow support across all regions. • Build effective team systems for planning, communication, workload management, and professional growth. • Foster a team culture grounded in TFU's values: integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and accountability. External Partnerships & Positioning • Build and sustain relationships with school leaders, university partners, and government institutions (including the Ministry of Pre-School and School Education • Represent TFU in external forums and contribute to positioning the organisation as a credible voice in teacher development and education reform in Uzbekistan. Success and Priorities The Head of Training & Support will ensure: • Strong foundations – establishing effective training design, coaching systems, and team structures. • Sustainable growth – adapting and improving training and support models as the fellowship expands. • Deepening impact – strengthening Fellow and alumni leadership development to maximise long-term contribution to education equity. • External influence – positioning Teach for Uzbekistan as a thought leader in teacher development, education reform, and social change. Key Responsibilities • Lead the strategic direction of the Training & Support team. • Design and oversee the Summer Institute and ongoing Fellow development programs. • Manage Fellow coaching and support through Leadership Development Officers. • Establish systems to track and evaluate Fellow and student outcomes. • Recruit, train, and manage Training & Support staff, developing future leaders. • Build and sustain external partnerships with schools, universities, and government institutions. • Contribute to organisational leadership as part of the Senior Leadership Team. • Support Teach for Uzbekistan's role as a research-driven think tank by generating insights on education, social change, and leadership development. |

Performance Management Performance management for the Head of Training and Support is aimed at ensuring that fellows or program participants receive the high-quality training and support necessary to achieve the TFU's goals. This process includes goal setting, regular check-ins, feedback, and final performance evaluation. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Both quantitative and qualitative metrics are used to measure Head of Training and Support success: 1. Results of Fellows: • % of participants who achieved performance targets (e.g., student academic performance). • % of participants who completed individual development plans or pedagogical objectives. 2. Quality and Engagement: • Completion Rate: Percentage of participants who successfully completed the training program. • Satisfaction Score: Participant satisfaction with the quality of training and support. 3. Support Management: • Participant satisfaction with the work of their assigned Coordinators. • Timeliness and quality of feedback provided by the support team. Assessment Methods The following tools are used to obtain a complete picture: • 360-Degree Feedback: Collecting feedback from subordinates, peers, senior management, and the program participants themselves. • Regular Check-ins: Frequent progress discussions instead of a single annual review to promptly adjust strategy. • Data Analysis (LMS): Using learning management systems to track activity, course completion time, and quiz results in real time. • Observation: Assessing manager skills in real-world work situations, such as during training sessions or partner meetings. |

| Additional information: | Qualifications Required • Bachelor's degree (Education, Social Sciences, Leadership, or related field). • At least 5 years of professional experience, including 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role with accountability for team performance and program delivery. • Demonstrated track record of developing and managing people. • Direct experience in the education sector (teaching, teacher training, education program management, or education policy). • Strong knowledge of curriculum design, coaching methodologies, and adult learning principles. • Fluency in Uzbek and English (spoken and written). Russian is a strong advantage. Preferred • Master's degree in Education, Public Policy, Organisational Leadership, or related field. • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement frameworks. • Familiarity with Uzbekistan's education landscape, including regional and policy-level challenges. • Experience working with or within a Teach For All network partner or similar fellowship/leadership development programme. Competencies • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. • Strong analytical and research skills. • Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop emerging leaders. • Effective relationship-building with diverse stakeholders (government, universities, school leaders, donors). • Problem-solving and adaptability in resource-constrained environments. • Strong digital literacy: comfort with data systems, learning platforms, and analytical tools. • Deep commitment to educational equity, integrity, and organisational values.
