| Duties | Position holder will be located at Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and reports to the Ministry GCP/UZB/020/GFF/ Sustainable Forest and Rangelands Management in the Dryland Ecosystems of Uzbekistan Under the overall supervision of the Chief Technical Adviser and Head of PIU at Ministry of Ecology of Uzbekistan National Value Chains Expert (dairy, beekeeping, medicinal plants) will undertake the following: National Value Chains Expert (dairy, beekeeping, medicinal plants) is expected to undertake the following tasks: Under Output 2.1.1.: - Development and implementation of training programmes in business management and economic planning for key actors and women entrepreneurs that perform critical functions along selected value chains. Under Output 2.2.1. - Training needs assessment of local smallholders at project sites and development of training program of three target value chains (dairy, bee-keeping, and medicinal plants) Under Output 2.2.2. - Develop a Training program in business planning for women entrepreneurs - Participate in elaboration and implementation of Knowledge Management (KM) activities following FAO's Knowledge Management Strategy throughout the project cycle. KM interventions will include: - developing a set of manuals and media products on the improved practices, measures and technologies, for use by extension workers and producers (Output 3.1.3). These products will document lessons learnt, share validated technical options developed under Component 2. - under Output 3.1.3, strengthening of existing local networks for sharing lessons with national, regional and international partners. All KM products will explicitly include gender dimensions, and the Project will also produce gender-specific KM products. - under Component 3 - Outcome 4.1 elaboration of Knowledge Management System for sharing project results and replicating tested methodologies in other districts on Bukhara and Navoi regions and other regions across the country. - Knowledge management products developed and disseminated, including a set of manuals for LDN monitoring and implementation through scaling up of SLM (Output 3.1.3) key performance indicators Expected Outputs: Work plan Contribution to the project progress reports and PIR on relevant activities Submission of technical reports on relevant activities specified in this ToR and project workplan Submission of the mid-term technical report on FFS activities Submission of the final technical report on FFS activities including all data, materials and manuals prepared within the assignment period.
