| Duties | This position is equal to NB3-NPSA-7 level of UNDP Salary Scale Project Background The EU-funded FAO Project in Uzbekistan is to clarify the challenges related to agriculture chemical waste management in terms of both legacy wastes (volumes of obsolete pesticides and associated materials like contaminated soils) and annual arisings to be managed in the country and is to enhance effective and environmentally sound management of hazardous chemicals and associated wastes from agriculture. Also, to prevent renewed build-up of obsolete stocks which need to be managed and disposed of as well as to lower health and environmental risks from the use of dangerous pesticides like highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) in agriculture, the project will also strengthen pesticide life-cycle management and introduce and promote sustainable and resilient agricultural practices relying on fewer pesticides and on less harmful pest management methods. Tasks and responsibilities Under the overall supervision by the Assistant FAO Representative in Uzbekistan, and direct technical supervision by the National Project Manager, the Project Assistant shall undertake the following: Assist in the handling of day-to-day operational activities for the Project; Follow-up on operational/administrative actions related to staff management, travel, field missions, payments, procurement, logistics, etc.; Contribute to organizing meetings, workshops and other events for the project (e.g. logistical arrangements, participants, preparation of materials, etc.); Provide support to the recruitment process for national and international consultants; Support preparation of travels for national and international consultants, FAO staff and government officials (transport, logistics, accommodation, documentation, etc.); Assist in the preparation of mission orders, payment requests, advance reports, etc. including all supporting documents for the necessary validations. Support the initiation of Purchase Requests for the Local Procurement Unit; Prepare correspondence and/or official letters according to the indications provided for the validation of heads of office and/or the Project; Ensure the availability of stationery and equipment for the Project, and monitor stocking/maintenance; Ensure the accurate recording of all project data and deliverables relevant for operational and results-based monitoring; Perform other duties as required. Any travels under this contract will be arranged and covered by FAO separately. Key performance indicators: 1.Weekly approval packages solicited, compiled and submitted 2.BTOR, event reports and other administrative reports prepared and submitted 3.Complete procurement dossiers (PR and other other information) submitted 4.Supporting documents and information required to justify payments, including receipts, invoices, banking vouchers, etc., are complete before being sent for further processing 5.All project deliverables (e.g. cleared final reports) and other documentation (e.g. list of news clips, etc.) compiled on project shared disk |

| Professional requirements | Minimum Requirements: •University degree in social sciences, business administration, economics, law or related fields •At least 3 years of working experience in fields related to administrative works, administrative assistant, finance, advisory services and/or other relevant areas of work. •Fluent in English, Uzbek and working knowledge of Russian.
