| Duties | • Design and implement workshops, training sessions, and events that align with U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy goals, focusing on STEAM education, entrepreneurship, and innovation. • Develop and lead maker activities in areas such as 3D printing, electronics, coding, robotics, laser cutting, and arts & crafts. • Collaborate with Embassy staff, local partners, and visiting experts to develop programs that engage wide-ranging audiences, including students, educators, entrepreneurs, and target communities. • Identify and recruit local and international experts to lead specialized workshops and programs. • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Makerspace, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and inventory management. Ensure all Makerspace equipment and supplies (3D printers, laser cutters, electronics kits, robotics sets, etc.) are properly maintained, safe, and functional. • Manage inventory of materials and supplies, prepare purchase requests, and maintain usage logs. • Manage the Makerspace budget, including advising on the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment. • Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld at all times. • Build and maintain relationships with local schools, universities, NGOs, businesses, and other community organizations to promote the Makerspace and its programs. • Assist in marketing and outreach through social media, flyers, and events to increase public awareness and participation. • Represent Makerspace at public events and meetings to raise awareness and build partnerships • Maintain program and attendance records, prepare monthly reports, and document project outcomes. • Prepare regular reports for the U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. • Assist in budget monitoring and resource management. |

| Professional requirements | • Bachelor's degree in education, engineering, IT, design, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Minimum 2 years of experience in educational programming, community engagement, or technical training. • Basic knowledge of two or more maker technologies (e.g., Arduino, 3D printing, robotics, laser cutting, coding). • Strong organizational and communication skills in English and Uzbek (Russian desirable). • Ability to manage multiple priorities quickly and effectively. • Experience in social networking, innovative outreach, presentations, and marketing/promotion. • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and programs. |
