The ICRC Regional Delegation for Central Asia seeks to fill the following position:

Then this is an opportunity you want to consider! The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is looking for a Staff Health Officer to be based in Tashkent.

Purpose of the post Staff Health Officer will be the focal point for all matters relating to the health of ICRC staff in the delegation in Uzbekistan and other missions in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
Main duties and responsibilities • Implements and follows up of the ICRC staff health policies at all sites under responsibility. • Carries out Staff Health briefings for all new staff members. • Evaluates the medical structures available and quality of services provided; identifies and monitors services for the referral and treatment of ICRC staff. Creates the list of the referral hospitals/clinics and medical doctors and keeps up to date. • Provides advice and support to ICRC staff with health problems. • Processes medical claims of ICRC resident staff and their family members, keep their medical records updated at all times, and report irregularities related to sick leave or medical invoices. • Implements and follows up with regards to pre-employment medical checks, medical checks for specific staff members, staff health briefing to new employees, periodical assessment of referral hospitals, accidents, and special medical cases. • Implements and follows up on ICRC stress policy and mental health wellbeing of staff. • Collects accurate and reliable data on illnesses, accidents and absenteeism, with a view to providing statistics on illnesses and the medical risks taken by all staff. Make recommendations to the management. • Reports (without personal medical details) to delegation management and provides feedback and recommendations on issues related to the staff's health. • Keeps Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) kit and First Aid (FA) kits updated at all times. • Contributes to the formulation and implementation of medical contingency plan for the region, including staff casualty management. • Translates medical documents from English into Russian and Uzbek and/or vice versa, as per needs. • Makes quarterly report on staff health activities, including providing recommendations on issues related to the staff's health. • Provides advice on the medical needs of ICRC staff during transportation and coordinates medical evacuations if required. When needed, liaises with the Staff Health Centre of Expertise (RH_COE_SAN) at ICRC headquarters and coordinates at local level in case of the repatriation of personnel out of the country. |

Desired profile and skills • Medical education (Doctor, Nurse, etc). Clinical experience. • 2-4 years of experience in occupational health an asset. • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, Uzbek or Russian. • Very good computer literacy. • Pro-active and punctual. • Good team player, flexible. • Discreet, able to observe strict confidentiality.
