| Duties | GIZ project "Climate Risk Management in Central Asia" has announced a vacancy of Advisor (Expert). Responsibilities: -Steer and manage implementation of programme activities in Uzbekistan, including the elaboration of the yearly operation plan and the respective budget, supervision and monitoring of activities, provision of technical support, and overall reporting, in close collaboration with the programme manager; -Provide technical guidance and advice on matters such as climate risk management and adaptation and attends regular working meetings at partner ministries or with subordinate organizations and other events organized by national partner organisations; -Ensure financial and administrative management of programme activities in compliance with GIZ regulations; -Supervise and advise national and international experts during their respective assignments for the programme; -Participate in regional programme activities and workshops and manage national contributions and inputs to regional initiatives, in close collaboration with the programme manager and colleagues; - Participate and represent the programme in development partner meetings / bilateral meetings with other development organizations; -Manage communication with national and development partners in Uzbekistan; -Coordinate organisation and logistical arrangements of events, working groups, conferences etc. |

| Professional requirements | -At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field programme management, climate change, water and/or disaster risk reduction; -Experience in international development agencies is an asset -Relevant University Degree -Fluent in English and Russian languages, good converstational level of Uzbek language -Strong programme management skills -In-depth substantive knowledge in the area of climate change, climate risk management, water and/or disaster risk reduction -Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community -Good working knowledge in ITC technologies (internet, MS programs,email, etc) |
