| Duties | *Make successful student learning the central consideration in all aspects of decision making *Communicate and model the kinds of behaviors and relationships required to succeed at TIS *Assist the teacher with regular lessons and learning activities using different collaborative models *Communicate clearly and accurately with students *Support the student's growth and independence *Demonstrate careful preparation of instructional materials *Keep classroom spaces organized in relation to their student *Assist in the maintenance of the classroom organization *Show professionalism and good rapport in working with the partner teacher and the students *Implement plans with support from Learning Support, Counseling, and Homeroom teachers *Take initiative, learn quickly, and not require constant direction *Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team *Continually seek to improve own practice, including through observation, examination and discussion with colleagues *Use behavior management strategies in line with the school's policy and procedures which contribute to a purposeful learning environment. *Use the agreed behavior management strategies for the student. *Build and maintain successful relationships with all students, treating them consistently, with respect and consideration and to be concerned for their *development as learners *Attending meetings regarding this student when required. *Meeting with Learning Support and the Counselor on a regular basis. |
