| Duties | The Legal Program Coordinator provides administrative, legal, and policy support to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) Resident Legal Advisor (RLA). Administrative responsibilities include budget and finance management, travel, reporting, and office management. Legal and policy responsibilities include organizing OPDAT initiatives, reviewing and analyzing legislation, and maintaining regular contact with Uzbek government officials and U.S. Embassy employees. Manages finances for operations and activities as approved by the Resident Legal Advisor (RLA). Coordinates administrative functions with OPDAT headquarters and relevant sections at U.S. Embassy Tashkent. Manages and performs administrative and other duties as are required, including organizing meetings, providing logistical support for travel, procuring equipment and supplies, and maintaining correspondence and records. Manages activities centered on RLA outreach and legal advocacy, case-based mentoring and legal skills assistance to prosecutors, judges, lawyers, analysts, and police. Collaborates with the RLA in designing and developing substantive curricula, preparing program materials, and tracking and evaluating feedback. Coordinates with the RLA on planning and arranging timing and location of technical assistance and speaking engagements, ascertaining costs and requirements, reviewing materials, arranging for interpretation and translation of documents, procurement, and meeting with visiting delegations. Provides conceptual and practical training, technical advice and consultation to support OPDAT. Manages OPDAT activities with the Uzbek government on issues related to effective legislation, investigation, prosecution, adjudication, and mutual legal assistance to combat terrorism and terrorism-related crimes. Establishes and maintains communication with Uzbek criminal-justice officials. Arranges and participates in meetings with Uzbek officials, provides translations and interpretation as necessary, and advises the RLA. |

| Professional requirements | EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience providing administrative and program support in a legal, government, or international organization environment is required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have basic ability to work with budgeting information. Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in legal studies, Law, International Relations, Political Science, or Business Administration is required. Language requirements: Fluent level in Speaking/Reading/Writing of RUSSIAN, UZBEK and ENGLISH is required. Evaluations: All candidates will be evaluated against minimum required education, qualifications, skills and experience. Language proficiency may be tested.
