| Duties | Project Context : We, SUEZ International, are leading a city-wide digital transformation of Tashkent's water management system by deploying smart cold-water meters across the whole city. These smart devices use the Wireless M-Bus protocol, enabling remote consumption tracking, leak detection, and real-time alarms. This initiative is one of the largest IoT (Internet of Things) and Big Data projects in Central Asia, combining complex field operations with advanced analytics and IT system integration. With daily meter installation operations across thousands of buildings, we collaborate closely with installer subcontractors for storage, testing, dispatch and installation of our meters and gateways. We also partner with the city's water provider to register customer and device data—such as GPS coordinates, billing information, and photographic evidence—into our smart metering information system to ensure accurate and timely billing. About the role We are looking for a Technical Operations & Data Systems Engineer to support the technical and digital infrastructure of our smart metering operations in Tashkent. The role sits at the intersection of data, automation, operational systems and IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the data-processing tools and applications used by the operational teams, while progressively taking responsibility for the monitoring and first-level administration of an on-premise Smart Meter Management System. The position is particularly suited to a technically curious person who enjoys solving problems, understanding how systems work, automating repetitive tasks and working closely with operational teams. Key responsibilities 1. Data processing, ETL & automation • Maintain and improve existing Python-based data processing and ETL pipelines. • Develop Python scripts and automation tools to support operational processes. • Perform data cleaning, transformation, validation and reconciliation. • Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures and data-processing routines. • Monitor automated data-processing workflows and investigate failures. • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational activities. • Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and data-processing issues. • Ensure the reliability and quality of operational datasets. 2. Operational applications & business intelligence • Maintain and provide technical support for existing Python-based web applications and internal tools. • Investigate application errors and implement fixes or improvements. • Develop new features and functionalities according to operational requirements. • Support Power BI dashboards, datasets and data refresh processes. • Ensure that operational dashboards and reporting tools receive reliable and up-to-date data. • Work closely with operational teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Maintain technical documentation for applications, data flows and operational tools. 3. Smart Meter Management System & on-premise infrastructure • Participate in the deployment of the Smart Meter Management System on the company's on-premise infrastructure. • Work alongside the software vendor during the implementation, configuration and training phases. • Monitor the availability and health of the application and associated services. • Perform basic server administration and system maintenance activities. • Execute predefined operational and maintenance procedures. • Monitor application and server logs and identify potential issues. • Perform first-level troubleshooting of application and infrastructure incidents. • Escalate complex technical issues to the software vendor or appropriate IT teams. • Support backup, recovery and system maintenance procedures. • Develop and maintain documentation covering the system architecture, operational procedures and troubleshooting steps. • Monitor the fleet of deployed gateways 4. Technical support to operations • Provide technical support to operational teams using digital tools and applications. • Investigate incidents and identify the root cause of technical or data-related issues. • Coordinate with internal IT teams, software vendors and other technical stakeholders when required. • Provide guidance and basic training to users on internal tools and systems. • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the reliability, efficiency and automation of operational processes. • Test and troubleshoot any smart metering equipment |

| Professional requirements | Required skills & experience • 1–2 years of experience in a technical role involving data, software development, automation, IT systems or a related field. • Good knowledge of Python. • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases. • Basic understanding of ETL/data-processing concepts. • Basic understanding of web applications and APIs. • Basic knowledge of server administration and operating systems. • Ability to read and understand application and system logs. • Basic understanding of networking concepts. • Experience with Power BI or another BI platform is an advantage. • Experience with Git/version control is an advantage. • Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server is an advantage.
