| Duties | I. POSITION INFORMATION Position title: Project Associate – MPX Data and Research Position grade: G-5 Duty station: Tashkent Organizational unit: Migrants Protection and Assistance Unit II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) of Uzbekistan and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer on Protection, and, in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the Project Associate – MPX Data and Research will be responsible and accountable for providing administrative and project support to the Migrants Protection and Assistance Unit of the IOM Country Office (CO) in Tashkent, including support to data and research-related activities under the "Strengthening Survivor-Centred Protection and Prevention of Trafficking in Persons in Uzbekistan" project funded by The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and other migrant protection (MPX) project activities. III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1.Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities including data and research-related activities. 2.Retrieve, compile, summarise, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics. 3.Monitor budget by verifying availability of funds, obtaining necessary approval and updating budget-related information. 4.Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organisational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc. 5.Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, escalate issues to the supervisor and suggest remedial actions to address delivery gaps. 6.Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation. 7.Respond to complex information requests and inquiries, set up and maintain files/records, and organise meetings, workshops and training sessions. 8.Participate in meetings and conferences to assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation (UN) agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. 9.Assist in monitoring work of Implementing Partners (IP) and report non-compliances to the supervisor. 10.Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff. 11.Perform such other relevant duties as may be assigned. |

| Professional requirements | IV. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE EDUCATION •Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or •High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience. EXPERIENCE •Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations; •Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and •Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. SKILLS •Knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the organisation; •Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming; •Knowledge of finance and administrative procedures; •Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data management and reporting.; •Experience in data collection, validation, compliation, and maintenance of project information; •Ability to compile, analyse, and present information from multiple sources; •Ability to prepare reports, briefing materials, presentations, and correspondence; •Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills; •Ability to support data quality assurance and ensure accuracy and consistency of project data; and •Knowledge of data collection platforms, data visualization tools, and relevant IOM/UN data systems is an advantage. V. LANGUAGES For this position, fluency in English, Russian and Uzbek is required (oral and written). VI.
