National Graphic Designer and Multimedia Specialist

Duties FAO Representation in Uzbekistan implements a broad portfolio of projects and initiatives in the areas of sustainable agriculture, food security, climate change adaptation, land restoration, forestry, water management, rural development, agrifood systems transformation and natural resource management. To strengthen the visibility, outreach and communication impact of FAO's work in Uzbekistan, the Representation requires dedicated professional support in graphic design, visual communications, photography and video production.
The National Graphic Designer and Multimedia Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the AFAOR Uzbekistan and in close coordination with the Communications team and relevant project teams. S/he will support the development of high-quality visual and multimedia materials for FAO projects, events, campaigns, publications, digital platforms and social media channels. The Specialist will ensure that all products are visually professional, accurate, accessible and aligned with FAO corporate identity, communication standards and visibility requirements.
The Specialist will be responsible, among others, for:
Task 1. Graphic design, layout and visual communication
• Design and prepare professional layouts for books, reports, manuals, brochures, booklets, leaflets, factsheets, posters, banners, roll-ups, certificates, invitations and other event visibility materials;
• Develop social media visuals, including cards, carousel posts, quote cards, announcements, campaign visuals, web banners and digital assets for FAO platforms;
• Create infographics, data visualization materials and illustrations based on project results, technical information, statistics and key messages;
• Design and format PowerPoint presentations for meetings, workshops, trainings, conferences and official events;
• Adapt FAO templates and develop new layouts where required, ensuring consistency with FAO branding, typography, colour use and visual identity.
Task 2. Branding, print preparation and production support
• Ensure correct and consistent use of FAO logos, partner logos, corporate identity elements, colours, fonts and visibility requirements across all materials;
• Prepare print-ready files with correct resolution, margins, bleeds, colour profiles and technical specifications;
• Prepare digital versions of materials for websites, social media, email distribution and online publications;
• Coordinate with printing companies when required, including checking technical specifications, reviewing proofs and ensuring final quality;
• Provide final materials in both editable source formats and final ready-to-use formats.
Task 3. Photography
• Provide photo coverage of FAO events, workshops, trainings, field visits, project activities and official meetings;
• Capture high-quality portraits, group photos, action shots, field activities, beneficiaries, experts, technologies and project results;
• Edit, colour-correct and organize selected photographs for use in press releases, social media, reports, publications, websites and donor visibility materials;
• Ensure respectful and ethical representation of all photographed people, including farmers, rural communities, women, youth and project beneficiaries.
Task 4. Video production and editing
• Film high-quality video footage during FAO events, field missions, interviews, workshops, trainings and project activities;
• Capture b-roll footage, interviews, project sites, beneficiaries, landscapes, technologies and practical results;
• Produce short videos, reels, teasers, event highlights, interview clips and social media videos;
• Edit videos using professional software and include subtitles, lower thirds, logos, titles, transitions, music and basic motion graphics where required;
• Prepare video products in different formats, including 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16 for websites, presentations, Facebook, Telegram, and other digital platforms.
Task 5. Coordination, quality assurance and archiving
• Work closely with FAO communication and project teams to understand the purpose, target audience, key messages and expected use of each product;
• Submit draft products for review and incorporate comments and revisions from FAO and relevant project teams;
• Maintain confidentiality of unpublished FAO materials, photos, videos, project information and internal documents;
• Organize and submit final files, source files, raw photo/video materials and approved versions in clearly named folders.

Professional requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• University degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, Computer Graphics or another relevant field.
Professional Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of proven professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, publication layout, branding, photography, video production and/or multimedia content development;
• Strong portfolio demonstrating previous work in publications, books, reports, brochures, booklets, leaflets, infographics, social media visuals, branding materials, presentations and print products;
• Proven ability to prepare materials for both print and digital platforms;
• Strong knowledge of professional design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Canva Pro or equivalent tools;
• Knowledge of video editing and motion design software;
• Experience in photography, photo editing, video shooting and basic video production is required;
• Experience with international organizations, NGOs, development projects, government institutions or educational institutions is an asset.
Technical skills:
The specialist must be proficient in professional design and multimedia software, including, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Canva Pro.
• Practical experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Bridge would be a strong advantage for video editing, motion graphics, photo processing and multimedia production.
• The specialist should also have good knowledge of preparing materials for print and digital platforms, including resolution, margins, bleeds, colour profiles, CMYK/RGB formats and print-ready PDF preparation.

Language Requirements:
• Working knowledge of Uzbek and Russian is required;
• Working knowledge of English is required;
• Ability to correctly place, format and review multilingual text in design materials is required.

• Strong understanding of branding, visual identity, typography, layout, colour use and digital communication;
• Good understanding of print production requirements, including resolution, margins, bleeds, CMYK/RGB colour formats and print-ready PDF preparation;

• Strong attention to detail, responsibility and ability to meet deadlines;
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
