Duties WBG Pioneers, the World Bank Group's Internship Program, offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high impact learning experience at the heart of global development. Participants gain hands on experience in a diverse and dynamic environment, contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, and connect with international professionals working to end poverty on a livable planet.

The World Bank Uzbekistan Country Office supports a diverse portfolio of lending operations, advisory services, and analytical work. During the FY27, the Uzbekistan WBG team will embark on the preparation of the new, post-2027 Country Partnership Framework, preceded by the Country Learning Review and the Systemic Country Diagnostics, both starting in the last months of 2026. The country team is also leading the Uzbekistan 2030 Jobs coalition in partnership with all other IFIs, private sector and the Government. In addition, between September and December 2026, the Country Office will contribute to a number of international events including the Mid-Term review of IDA21 cycle, and the World Summit 'Investing in Children' 2026. The Country Management Units (CMU) for the Bank and IFC work jointly across all technical and operational streams ensuring operational quality, systemic country dialogue, portfolio oversight and office management. The proposed Intern will support the effective delivery of the work by the WB-IFC CMU team and will learn all operational aspects of the World Bank's country office work.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Work closely with the CMU team on monitoring of operational tasks, data collection and management for the purposes of the SCD, CLR and the CPF preparation, support to coordination of learning activities, and preparation of high-level events.
•Support information exchange with the GOU on a number of topics, especially related to the Uzbekistan 2030 Jobs coalition, portfolio monitoring, status of key reforms.
•Draft and format variety of correspondences, text, reports, figures, graphs, etc., related to the above activities.
•Support administrative and logistical arrangements for various events, e.g., missions, meetings, conferences, workshops, negotiations, preparation of briefing materials, coordination of meeting schedule, travel, and security arrangements.
•Handle meetings logistics ranging from conference rooms booking, arranging Webex, catering, arranging security escort for the VP's visitors, and any additional tasks related to the meetings.
•Support the CMU Operations team in portfolio and pipeline monitoring, organizing operational data, preparing infographics, presentations and other information materials on the World Bank Group operations. Support with maintaining, retrieval, manipulating and presentation of project related data.
•Assist in conducting project field visits, VIP visits, other logistics-related tasks as instructed by the CMU team.

•Candidates must be currently enrolled in a postgraduate (master's/PhD) program
•Candidates must have 0–6 years of relevant professional experience
•Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description
•Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group's mission
•Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
•Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
•Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
•Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
•Proficiency in English; knowledge of Uzbek or Russian language is an advantage
