| Duties | We are looking for a motivated university graduate with initial practical experience to join our team in an assistant position. The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation in the Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) is looking for a Project Assistant (m/f) to support the Specialist and Head of Consumer Protection and Competition. The branch of the German Sparkassenstiftung in the Republic of Uzbekistan represents the German Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation, headquartered in Bonn. The team consists of both local and international professionals, united by a shared mission - to contribute to sustainable development through practical, impact-oriented projects. The projects implemented in Uzbekistan are supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as well as other international donors. One of the key focus areas of the current portfolio is the development of consumer protection mechanisms and the promotion of fair competition. In this context, the branch is looking for a proactive and reliable candidate to join the team as a Project Assistant, with the opportunity to start as soon as possible. Main Responsibilities: • Administrative support (coordination of travel, budget monitoring, documentation) • Participation in public relations and project monitoring (e.g., researching topics related to financial literacy and consumer protection, preparing quarterly newsletters) • Support for the long-term expert in the field of "Consumer Protection and Competition" with all professional tasks (planning, organizing, and implementing project activities such as workshops, study trips, dialogue formats) • Managing the project office to ensure its efficient operation (printing materials, preparing external events and meetings, etc.) • Supporting internal and external communication channels • Preparing meeting minutes • Preparing brief summaries on key topics based on participation in conferences • Ensuring continuity of project activities during the absence of the long-term expert in the field • Performing general organizational tasks to maintain the operational efficiency of the project • Conducting research on various topics (e.g., fraud) in Uzbekistan • Strong command of Russian, Uzbek, and English (written and spoken) is essential for this assignment. |

| Professional requirements | Requirements for Candidates: • Fluency in Russian, Uzbek, and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory. Knowledge of German will be considered an additional asset. • University degree in banking and finance, economics, financial management, or related fields • Initial professional experience as a project assistant or in a comparable role would be an advantage • Good understanding of the governmental structure and banking system of Uzbekistan • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) • Ability to work independently, reliably, and responsibly • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills and a high level of trustworthiness • Strong analytical skills • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Punctuality, initiative, and the ability to contribute ideas related to consumer protection and the development of competition • Genuine interest in consumer protection and competition policy in both Uzbekistan and Europe |
