Duties |
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Sub-regional Coordinator / FAO Representative in Uzbekistan and the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative and in close collaboration with the other Representation's Office staff, the Security Guard will:
• Ensure the continuity of 24-hour guarding service for the FAO office premises. • Know and carry out functional duties related to provision of physical security, and access control outline and know specific security provisions related to FAO. • Protect information related to FAO office and staff members. Report immediately any attempts to obtain such information by any intruder and call police afterwards. • Act according to the instructions and rules in cases of fire or other common emergencies and is ready to provide first aid. • Act to mitigate and defuse any emergencies that occur in the office, or its immediate vicinity. Report all actions taken to the Head of the Agency • Coordinate with all law enforcement officers who provide security for the external perimeter of the office within the limits of competence. • Conduct a thorough handover of all security equipment and logbooks at the beginning and end of every shift, in order to provide the continuity of 24-hour guarding service. • Routinely inspect the condition of all security doors, grills, and windows as well as general condition of the building and office perimeter. Report any damage to the Security Focal Point. • Maintain all post documentation in the prescribed manner. All entries must be clear and complete. Record all security incidents and other significant events that take place during the shift. Record all communications with residential security posts. • Prevent and if possible, detain any suspicious person that attempts to gain unauthorized access to the office. Such persons should be turned over to the police. • Patrol all office grounds. Periodically inspecting the external perimeter of the office. Monitor the immediate surrounding at all times. • Handover room keys to the authorized staff members upon requested and vehicle keys to the office drivers and records the change of custody in the proper logbook. • Follow established procedures for removing valuable office items and equipment from the premises. • Report all suspicious activities to the Security Focal Point/The Head of the Agency and request assistance as appropriate. • Ensure the visitor access procedures are in accordance with instructions. Prevent visitors not working for FAO from wandering freely through the office. • Ensure the rules regarding the individuals involved in repairs and maintenance of the building. Accompanies the workers, and in the absence of the building custodians remains with them until they finish their work. • The duty schedule for the Security Guard is compiled by the Head of the Agency • In emergency situations follow all instructions from the Designated Official for Security, Security Focal Point and Head of the Agency • Participates in all trainings and seminars organized by Security Advisor or Local Security Advisor (LSA) DSS. • Must be very polite to all FAO staff members and visitors. • Perform other duties as required. |

Education:
Completion of secondary/high school is required.
Work Experience:
Not less than 5 years in security services, law enforcement companies/organizations/firms is required. Knowledge of security systems of International Organizations are advantageous.
Language:
Fluency in Russian and Uzbek is a must. Working knowledge of English is required. |
