| Duties | The main duties of Sewerage Engineer include but not limited to the followings: • Provision technical / engineer support to JSC Uzsuvtaminot and Suvtaminoti LLCs for quality assurance, effective and efficient planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure investments all along the duration of the project. • Technical support and guidance to the projects for the assessment design and implementation of the institutional support activities – towards improving water and sanitation services' delivery and utility operational performance. • Assist JSC Uzsuvtaminot and Suvtaminoti LLCs in technical issues for coordination with other Government entities and providing documentation and responses to obtain for all necessary approvals during planning, design, procurement, and implementation phases of the project. • Assist JSC Uzsuvtaminot and Suvtaminoti LLCs in the review of technical materials for the bidding / procurement documents from a technical perspective. • Participate in the technical supervision of the construction activities, periodically visit the construction sites, organize meeting with the Contractors, Consultants and Technical Supervisors to discuss and find the solutions for remedying the revealed defects, check the Change/Variation orders and new quotations. • Participate in the meetings of Procurement Committee (PC) and where appropriate, consults the members of the PC regarding the selection process of contractors. • Prepare inputs to the PIU progress reports, focusing on technical issues, works progress, consultants engineering outputs and potential risks. Ensure risks are appropriately identified, reported and work together with the PIU Manager, JSC Uzsuvtaminot and Suvtaminoti LLCs to ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place. • Participate in the implementation support and supervision missions of the AFD, as required and provide ad hoc progress and technical reports from time to time – as requested by the AFD. • Perform other tasks as assigned by the management In the early stages of the project, Engineer will in particular: • Implement the preliminary examination of the Water Supply and Sanitation facilities of settlements including in the service perimeter of the Company • Review the technological solutions suggested by the designs, hydraulic calculations, feasibility study conclusions and the consistency of the provided working designs of each project based on the selection criteria of AFD, and provide comments, suggestions as required. • Organize meeting with all the interested parties to discuss and clarify the solutions proposed by the preliminary and working designs, set up and present to the management well-justified Minutes of Meetings, • Accept the working designs and check the Bill of Quantities, Cost-Estimates, agreed consistency of the tender documents for further procurements In order to fulfil the assignment, PIU Sewerage Engineer will work closely with JSC Uzsuvtaminot, Suvtaminoti LLCs, Project Consultant, PIU specialists and local coordinators in project regions. |

| Professional requirements | Qualification requirements: • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, hydraulic, Sanitation engineering and other related fields. • Work experience: 10 years working experience in water supply and sanitation sector, with a strong experience in large construction projects. Extensive experience in design, construction, and operation of WWTPs is required including assessment of operational efficiency of WWTPs and implementation of capacity building programs for wastewater management. Work experience and knowledge of institutional sector development, including utility management / professionalization and water service regulation is considered an advantage. Experience in IFI financed projects will have advantage. • Computer skills: Experienced user of PC, MS Office, AutoCAD and other and software for design works. • Knowledge of languages: Fluency in Russian, Uzbek and in English is required. |
