Duties |
The SFF measure "Support for orderly, fair and development-oriented labor migration and migration for vocational training between Uzbekistan and Germany" for which the Advisor position is advertised runs from September 2025 until July 2027. The measure addresses both Uzbek partners as well as German stakeholders being responsible and active in the field of labor migration and migration for vocational training from Uzbekistan to Germany.
The advisor will be working in the following three focus areas which are interlinked with each other: 1. Feasibility Study for orderly, fair and development-oriented labor migration and migration for vocational training between Uzbekistan and Germany 2. Development and implementation of exchange formats for stakeholders in the field of skilled labor migration from Uzbekistan 3. Handbook containing recommendations for the development cooperation sector for the implementation of orderly, fair and development-oriented labor migration and migration for vocational training between Uzbekistan and Germany based on the experience of former projects and on the activities realized in this SFF measure
Main responsibilities:
• Coordinate round table meetings with local and international stakeholders from government, private sector and civil society • Steer cooperation with an international company/ scientific body implementing a study on labor migration between Uzbekistan and Germany • Cooperate with colleagues from GIZ that work on related topics worldwide • Act as a focal point for skilled workers management • Project cycle management in close cooperation with and under the leadership of the project manager • Any other task related to labor migration occurring in the course of the project |

Professional requirements |
• Higher education in political sciences, sociology, educational sciences, economics and any other relevant field • At least 5 years of experience in TVET, labor market and migration • In-depth knowledge of the Uzbek labor migration policies • Knowledge of German labor migration policy is an asset • Knowledge of English, Russian and Uzbek languages. German is an asset • Be a good communicator • Diplomatic skills and good social skills |
