The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is a political foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany that promotes democracy, the rule of law, human rights and a social market economy worldwide. Globally, KAS implements more than 200 projects in over 120 countries through a network of country and regional offices.
The regional office for Central Asia, based in Tashkent, implements programmes in Uzbekistan and neighbouring countries to foster political dialogue, support civil society, strengthen good governance, and encourage regional cooperation and European–Central Asian partnerships. Through conferences, training programmes and research projects, KAS Central Asia works with state institutions, parliaments, think tanks, universities and NGOs to contribute to sustainable development and international understanding in the region. |
