| Duties | The Assistant will perform a full range of operational and administrative support activities and will contribute to portfolio team handling technical assistance processing and administration, portfolio management, sector work, procurement, and other general sector activities, covering all operations in URM. The Assistant will report to designated International Staff and senior National Staff. • Maintains liaison with executing and implementing agencies, development partners and other stakeholders, and ADB HQ to support and facilitate project operations coordination, client and stakeholder relations; • Supports project teams and missions in daily operations to ensure effective project administration and processing by organizing meetings, preparing and formatting reports, official letters and memos; • Supports and provides backup to the project analysts, when required; • Assists in preparing and producing briefing and supporting materials for meetings and missions by project staff; participates in various missions as required such as tripartite portfolio review, country portfolio review, inception, review, mid-term and project completion review missions; • Assists project teams in preparation of correspondence requesting concurrence from the Government, including translation into Russian/English, and follow them up with the Government in coordination with project team; • Arranges all logistics for loan negotiations: arranging an interpreter in coordination with other relevant staff, translation of legal documents prior to and during loan negotiations, preparation of printed copies of documents for the Government team for ready reference at loan negotiations, and provides other support if necessary during loan negotiations in close coordination with the project team; • Assists in processing requests for the Government nominations to attend ADB training/workshop/conference and coordinates logistics for them to attend the scheduled events; • Ensures proper and timely logging, distribution, and dispatch/delivery of incoming and outgoing communications related to projects, including searching for necessary information as required and dealing with queries from internal/external calls to ensure they are referred in a timely manner to concerned project staff; • Ensures the project's filing systems (both electronic and paper) are set up and maintained in accordance with ADB's institutional standards and requirements; • Drafts routine correspondence and formats documents, and; • Performs other duties as may be required. |

| Professional requirements | • University degree; • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience n international organization; • Ability to work with minimum supervision and exercise good judgement and discretion, especially on issues requiring confidentiality, urgent attention, or in the supervisor's absence; • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Russian and Uzbek languages; • Very good computer skills with excellent knowledge of commonly used word-processing, spreadsheets, and graphics software; • Good understanding of the role and functions of the office and a good general understanding of ADB's purpose and operations in Uzbekistan; • Able to maintain composure under pressure. |
