Purpose of the post
The ICT Engineer position based in Tashkent and provides direct and remote ICT support to Tashkent Regional Delegation (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan) and AFU Support Sub-Delegation. The ICT Engineer is a senior technical expert who manages, supports and organizes all ICT systems and services in her/his assigned location(s) in collaboration/under supervision of the TAC ICT Manager.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Carries out computer and telecommunications infrastructure projects according to ICRC standards.
• Provides technical support and training on ICT-related matters in the sites under the regional delegation.
• Supports and records all requests and incidents reported via email, call or service portal within a set timeframe, provides users with regular updates on how their requests and incidents are being addressed.
• Monitors ICT installations and, in consultation with the TAC ICT manager, takes appropriate measures to guarantee that they function properly, and that policies and procedures are followed.
• Installs, maintains, uses and adapts existing infrastructure and material.
• Tests ICT equipment, hardware and software networks and other devices in order to ensure optimal performance and standard configuration.
• Briefs end-users on standard computer systems (hardware and/or software), provides technical advice and assistance with IT equipment and its use and provides remote support when needed.
• Manages inventory by monitoring database(s) and carrying out regular physical checks; manages stocks.
• Allocates equipment in an efficient manner, considering users' needs and ICRC policies.
• Keeps track of equipment allocations, dispatches equipment and follows up on shipments to and from other ICRC sites.
• Places orders for parts, equipment and tools, locally or in Geneva, according to standing procedures and in collaboration with the administration and logistics.
• Handles relations with the internet service provider regarding fees, level of service, etc., in collaboration with the administration.
• Keeps technical documentation up to date for all IT installations.

• Bachelor/Master of Science degree or equivalent work experience in IT, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or similar field.
• ICT Systems and Network certification.
• ICT management certification (ITIL) is an asset.
• Excellent command of Uzbek, English and Russian. Additional language(s) is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as ICT Engineer or equivalent previous experience. (e.g., Telecommunications Engineer, SysAdmin, Help desk, etc.)
• Availability to travel and carry out regular short missions to other sites in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan upon request.
