| Duties | ELL TEACHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: *Works directly with English Language Learners, providing direct instruction in MYP English Language Acquisition classes, and/or DP English B HL *Models, co-plans, and/or co-instructs with content-area teachers *Is responsible for site based administration of the WIDA MODEL Online assessment *Uses assessment data from WIDA, MAP, internal assessment, and other tests for instructional design purposes *Collaborates and supports content-area colleagues in planning, teaching, and assessing ELL student learning and outcomes; *Case Manager for a particular student on ELA student register identifying inclusive access and scaffolding for assessments and tasks. *Identifies the essential outcomes for each MYP Language Acquisition phase and/or grade and provides appropriate assessment strategies *Plan effective lessons using relevant curriculum documents and ensure curriculum documentation in ManageBac is accurate and up-to-date *Record and provide accurate information on progress to students and parents *Communicate with parents about successes and concerns of students' overall performance *Creates a safe, stimulating and inviting learning environment to promote student-centered and inquiry based learning and provides guidance and pastoral care for students *Models the attributes of the IB Learner Profile *Demonstrates concern for the safety and supervision of all students and assumes responsibility when necessary *Provides guidance and pastoral care for students acting as a student advocate *Models innovation in practice with and without technology *Contributes to and participates in the school's co-curricular program; *Engages in professional growth and participates in professional development offerings; *Adheres to the guidelines and procedures set out in the TIS Policy; *Other duties as assigned. |

| Professional requirements | *Experience in administering and using WIDA MODEL Online *Strong interpersonal and English written and spoken communication skills. *A university degree in Education and ELL Teaching Certification or equivalent (preferably a Master's degree) *Minimum two years ELL teaching experience in an international school *Experience in the MYP and/or DP is strongly desired *Recent professional development related to teaching and learning |

| Additional information: | The primary role of the teacher of English Language Learners (ELL) is to identify and support students for whom English is an additional language and to help them access the academic language across all curriculum areas. The ELL teacher creates a safe, caring and inclusive environment for all members of the community, with a particular focus on ELL students. The ELL teacher works within the IB Language Acquisition framework for both MYP and DP Group 2 and supports the integration of English Language instruction in the other subject areas. All Secondary teachers will join a grade level team as a homeroom teacher and will contribute regularly to extracurricular activities. All learning at TIS is guided by our Learning Principles. This is a full-time position, Starting October 2025 |
