Duties Under the overall authority of the Head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Officer, the Driver shall perform the driving duties. This includes the following functions, but not limited to:

- Timely and safe driving Office Staff members, Office guests, visitors in the UNESCO official vehicle;
- Ensuring that all instructions regulating safe driving behavior and Rules of the Road are strictly followed; Ensure driver is in possession of a valid driving license.
- Working closely with staff of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, especially other UNESCO Office drivers.
- Ensuring that repair and maintenance services are done on office vehicles in time;
- Maintaining daily vehicle logs (mileage, fuel consumption, travel routes) and submitting logs to the administrative staff in a timely manner;
- Ensuring that the vehicle has valid insurance and all the necessary safety equipment (triangle, vests, extinguisher etc.);
- Driving the office vehicle for delivery and collection of mails, documents, pouches, equipment and other administrative tasks as required;
- Assist in the organization of and logistical preparation for field trips, visiting missions, etc;
- Assist in reviewing records related to in-country missions and field trips;
- Performing other related duties as required and requested by the supervisor.

Professional requirements Education:

- Completion of secondary school or equivalent; drivers training with a valid driver's license/Uzbekistan driving license (minimum category B) preferred.

Work Experience:

- Three years of work experience as a driver with international organizations;
- Knowledge of local road networks within the assigned duty station is required.
- Experience working with the UN, a UN agency, or an international organization;
- Demonstrated ability to thrive within a complex multicultural and multinational environment strongly preferred; knowledge of UN rules, regulations, policies, and procedures an asset.

Languages:

- Fluency in written and oral Uzbek and Russian, and basic knowledge of English is required.

Skills/Competencies:

- Proven excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
- Ability to work under pressure, manage heavy workloads and meet tight deadlines, paying close attention to details and quality of work.
