Clearance Officer

Then this is an opportunity you want to consider! The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is looking for a Clearance Officer to be based in Tashkent. About us The ICRC is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC also seeks to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Purpose of the post The Import-Export Officer ensures that all imported, exported and in-transit goods are moved in line with the Custom regulation in force, liaises with Governmental Bodies and Customs' Officers, supports Air Operations for Afghanistan Main duties and responsibilities IMPORT & EXPORT (IMPEX) • Executes import/export activities for the ICRC • Handle the customs formalities in coordination with customs authorities and clearing agents for all incoming and outgoing shipments in line with Uzbekistan law and customs rules; • Collects and prepares cargo for shipment (weighting, measuring, labelling and etc). • Prepares documents related to customs declarations for incoming & outgoing ICRC shipments (proforma invoice, packing list, etc.). • Receives and expedites freight out of the country or region of assignment in collaboration with external commercial partners. • Coordinates with Transport/Fleet/AirOps activity in order to timely receive/dispatch cargo. |

Desired profile and skills • Educational background in Administration, Supply Chain and Logistics or any other related field. • 2-3 years work experience in clearing and forwarding or similar function. • Computer skills (especially in logistics software). • Good command of spoken and written English & Uzbek/Russian. |
