START DATE: The selected candidate must be able to start work within 3 weeks of receipt of medical clearance, or their candidacy may not be considered.


Incumbent serves as the Bodyguard (BG) Supervisor (SUP) for the Protective Security Unit in the execution of protective security (i.e. Bodyguard) operations for the U.S. Ambassador/ Chief of Mission, and other designated or visiting U.S. government officials as directed. Under the supervision of the RSO, the incumbent provides supervisory oversight of personal protective services personnel attached to the Bodyguard (BG) unit. The incumbent may serve within any capacity of the BG Unit, providing close protection and site advance services to the U.S. Chief of Mission (COM) to U.S. Embassy Tashkent in order to protect him/her from harm and embarrassment. Supervises all BG personnel and addresses all administrative matters. Monitors daily and weekly movement requests to develop daily and long-term staffing matrixes that efficiently meet the operational demands of the Mission. The incumbent is responsible for developing a staffing matrix that equitably manages BG personnel availability (e.g. vacation requests, the potential for sick leave, holidays, etc.) while ensuring adequate coverage.

Professional requirements QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.


A minimum of three years' professional experience in one or more of the following categories is required: commercial or private safety and security; law enforcement; military; other government safety/security; safety and security training; law practice; business administration; government interagency liaison or diplomacy, or international affairs. A minimum of two years' supervisory or leadership experience in any of the above categories is required.


Must be familiar with Uzbek Police Service, military, security and other government offices to ensure effective liaison and to facilitate effective protective operations including advance and motorcade operations.


Level three (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English is required. Level four (Fluent) Russian and/or Uzbek is required. Language proficiency may be tested.


Must be alert, have fast reflexes, active thinking, excellent observational skills, be adaptable, take decisive actions, stay calm in dangerous or threatening situations, display teamwork and have the ability to effectively communicate in English and Russian or Uzbek both verbally and in writing. Must have a good, working knowledge of computer skills, to include proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Must have valid host-government Driver's License to operate up to a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). Must be able to operate an armored vehicle and pass the defensive driving training.
