| Description: | The following are the updated main tasks of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan (hereinafter referred to as the State Ecology Committee): - implementation of a unified state policy in the field of ecology, environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, their restoration and prevention of the negative impact of human activities on nature; - ensuring cooperation with the public, civil society institutions in the field of environmental protection, providing methodical support and assistance to public control, ensuring the rights of citizens to a comfortable environment; - to ensure a favorable ecological condition of the environment, protection of ecological systems, natural complexes and objects; - to preserve flora and fauna, to preserve the diversity of their species, the integrity of natural groups and their habitat, to create the necessary conditions for their restoration and development; - to carry out state control over compliance with the legislation in the implementation of work related to waste, to organize a system for collecting, transporting, disposal, processing and burial of household waste with the active involvement of public and private partnerships; - establishment of state environmental control on the protection of atmospheric air, land, underground resources, water, forests, fauna and flora, protected natural areas and compliance with legislation in their use; -turning the direction of ecology and environmental protection into a "Corruption-free sphere", establishing a system of environmental education, promotion and education, supporting the activities of research institutes and higher education institutions. |
