Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context:
This role is within the context of Mobility Tracking Matrix (MTM) activities covered by different projects at IOM Uzbekistan. The overall objective of the MTM is to strengthen the evidence-based formulation and implementation of humanitarian and development policy and programming on human mobility in Uzbekistan. MTM activities are conducted within projects of 'Labour Migration Programme in Central Asia' and 'Regional Evidence for Migration Analysis and Policy'. The MTM exercises are to assess international and national mobility, and provide population estimates, locations, and geographic distributions of international migrants and Uzbek nationals that have returned or migrated both within Uzbekistan and internationally. By deploying the MTM as its primary data collection methodology, IOM strives to advance the comprehension of human mobility, migration, and return dynamics in the target countries. Furthermore, it seeks to promote regional interoperability and harmonization of displacement, and population mobility data collection initiatives as well as improve the generation, utilization, and management of such data.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive support to the Senior DTM Assistant (Data & Research) in executing, monitoring, and evaluating project activities related to the Displacement/Mobility Tracking Matrix (DTM/MTM) development.
- Take charge of coordinating and supervising the local enumerators team for efficient data collection operations alongside overseeing administrative and logistical tasks required.
- Create detailed quarterly reports on migration situations by conducting thorough data analysis, drafting insightful recommendations, and presenting findings in a clear and actionable manner.
- Conduct research on specific migration topics or geographical areas as per stakeholder requests, ensuring incorporation of in-depth analysis and providing valuable insights.
- Develop visually appealing charts, graphs, and maps to effectively communicate migration trends and analysis findings in reports and presentations, facilitating better understanding for stakeholders.
- Assist in drafting various project-related materials, contributing to the development of documents summarizing achievements, challenges, and impacts of the Data and Research unit's activities.
- Facilitate the organization and execution of workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs aimed at government authorities, NGOs, and UN stakeholders, ensuring effective dissemination of information.
- Assist in the rollout and implementation of research and information gathering activities and literature review concerning migration and related mobility topics, including climate change, migration drivers, labor mobility, and remittances.
- Undertake field visits as necessary to support the development of project activities, ensuring hands-on involvement and firsthand data collection experiences.
- Provide support for sub-regional project activities in Central Asia when required, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure better execution of tasks.
- Undertake any other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to contribute to the overall success of the project.
- Ensure thorough documentation and organized storage of all documents throughout the consultancy service, employing meticulous labeling and adhering to appropriate formatting standards and requirements.

Professional requirements Education
• University degree / Diploma in Humanitarian, Political or Social Science, Data Management, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum two years of relevant experience or High School Diploma in the above fields with five years and more of relevant working experience;

Experience
• At least two years of proven experience, preferably in migration or related areas;
• Knowledge and understanding of the relationship between migration and development;
• Experience in statistical tools, reporting, liaising with government authorities advantageous, preferably within the international humanitarian field.
• Advanced experience in conducting trainings, lectures;
• Experience in field data collection;
• Experience in working with international organizations and UN agencies is an advantage.

Competencies and Skills:
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills particularly in the field of training, workshops, lectures, presentations.
• Good knowledge of the migration & development concept;
• Familiarity with IOM's mandate;

Personal Qualities and other requirements:
• Strong interpersonal skills, solid judgment/decision making ability, initiative and creativity;
• Cultural and gender sensitivity;

Oral and written fluency in English, Uzbek and Russian is required.
