Duties Incumbent serves as the Travel Visa Clerk in the General Services Office, acts the back-up to the GSO Travel Assistant and is responsible for all aspects of travel. Provides training to new employees on travel authorization preparation. Assists with arranging third-country visas, including filling in the application, and drafting Diplomatic Notes. Responsible for the registration of official and personal visitors at the BDS (Bureau for Diplomatic Services) MFA. Is required to go to Government of Uzbekistan offices to submit travel related paperwork and pay the required fees. Makes hotel reservation for official visitors and VIP delegations.

Acts as liaison between the Embassy, Department of Diplomatic Services (DDS) in MFA, other embassies/consulates, hotels, and other host government offices.

Assist GSO/Travel Assistant to:

Prepare Travel Authorizations (TAs), travel insurance requests, and other forms of travel documentation

Coordinate hotel reservations for visitors and VIP visitors/delegations.

Facilitate local registration for official and personal guests of the Embassy American staff

Make related travel reservations for official travelers through the Travel Management Center (TMC)

Assist with Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) cases and Emergency Visitation travel.

Conduct the Citibank Travel Card Program and assist in doing final CBA reconciliation. Matches the bank charges with the issued ticket receipts, check availability of supporting documentation, sign and date the statement, and provide the reconciled statement with all supporting documents

Prepares correspondence on travel issues as necessary

Maintain files and records and performs general office work.

Performs a variety of travel-related clerical functions and other tasks that require knowledge of administrative and personnel practices and procedures.

*Note: Incumbent will be required to perform other duties as assigned by the agency.

Professional requirements EXPERIENCE:

Two years of work experience in travel and hospitality, or closely related field is required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other computer programs.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to deal with a myriad of personalities including frustrated customers; able to handle a large workload that encompasses multiple tasks.

COMPLETION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL IS REQUIRED.

Evaluations:
All candidates will be evaluated against minimum required education, qualifications, skills and experience. Language proficiency may be tested. Driving skills will be tested.
