stablished in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context:

The International Organization for Migration is assisting the Government of Uzbekistan in supporting safe and orderly migration from Uzbekistan to the UK through services of preparation, capacity-building, and reintegration. The main route to the UK is the Seasonal Worker Visa Route which allows workers to come to the UK to work in horticulture for up to 6 months. It is crucial that the migrants' migration experiences are safe and orderly, from the recruitment process, to employment, to return, in order to mitigate the risks of the process and to maximize the value of the experience for the livelihoods and benefits of migrants and their families, as well as for employers.

IOM will support the Government in conducting pre-departure orientation sessions, implementing a hotline on safe migration, developing an awareness raising campaign, conducting research on migrants challenges when migrating to the UK, implementing financial literacy sessions and providing grants to return migrants and their families.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

The tasks will likely include, but are not limited to the following:

1. In coordination with IOM Missions, the national consultant will contribute to the development and management of the work plan (timeline, milestones, deliverables, deadlines, etc.) and the project's monitoring framework and tools.
2. Monitor all the activities envisaged by the project in coordination with IOM and other project stakeholders.
3. Assist IOM in reviewing reports and monitoring tools to be provided by the project's service providers and consultants.
4. During the delivery and upon completion of the tasks, provide to IOM interim and final report on the assignment and its outcomes, offering observations on the impact of the assignment for the project it is supporting and any future assignments by IOM.
5. Other assigned tasks.

Professional requirements Experience
• At least 3 years of working experience in migration and/or financial inclusion related fields
• Experience working with migrant population
• Extensive knowledge of labour migration context in Uzbekistan

Education
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Development Studies or Migration Studies or related field from a recognized institution

Skills and Experience
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
• Ability to interact with Senior Officials (governmental and non-governmental, including in multi-lateral and bi-lateral settings)
• Experience in gathering and systematizing information and data
• Understanding of terminology, dynamics, and trends related to migration and or combatting trafficking in persons preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Familiarity with the local context of rural Uzbekistan
• Strong computer literacy in using the Microsoft Office package.
• Excellent communication skills
• Works effectively with donors, local authorities, beneficiaries and the broader community to advance country office or regional objectives.
• Strong computer skills and analytical skills with ability to write and review technical reports required.
• Proven work record in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment is necessary.

Languages
REQUIRED: Fluency in spoken and written Uzbek and English.
DESIRABLE: Russian
