Grade: FSN-7, FP-7*

START DATE: The selected candidate must be able to start work within 3 weeks of receipt of medical and security clearance, or their candidacy may not be considered.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The jobholder directly supports the Embassy's Management Counselor and provides a wide variety of administration and project management support. The jobholder will process official correspondence to local entities or entities in the U.S., memos and notices to Embassy community, and translation of administrative materials to/from English and Russian/Uzbek. The jobholder will support Human Resource, Finance, Facilities, and GSO officers on key data systems, projects, reports, and deliverables that are essential to the Management platform. The jobholder will also liaise with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental organizations on management issues.
Receives official correspondence or management notices and translates it from Russian to English or from English to Russian. Accompanies the Management Counselor to ceremonies, meetings and seminars to provide interpretation between Russian and English.
S/he will maintain the Management Counselor's schedule, arrange meetings, track documents for approval/clearance, receive telephone calls and make inquiries. S/he will draft, translate, format and distribute administrative diplomatic notes and other administrative routine correspondence.

Professional requirements QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:

A minimum of 2 years of post-secondary (college/university) studies is required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Must have a minimum of two years of solid administrative work experience in an international organization or with exposure to international environment.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Local legislation and familiarity of local government structure and relevant points of contact.

LANGUAGE:

Level 4 (FLUENT) Speaking/Reading/Writing English, Russian and/or Uzbek is required. Language proficiency may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Tact, diplomacy, poise and discretion, and effective communication skills are required. Keyboard/Data entry and translation skills are required. IT literate. Effective written communication skills.
