Duties Using iSAMS prepares daily student absences/attendance reports
Contacts parents of absent students to confirm reason for absence
Provides up-to-date student attendance lists in emergencies and drills
Maintains positive public relations at all times, interacting with parents, visitors, staff members and students
Works with Promotion, Publication & Communications Officer to stay aware of all school events and activities
Receives and directs all visitors to the central office
Answers and directs all incoming phone calls, attempting first to answer callers questions
Answers and directs all incoming emails to the account
Arranges for delivery and posting of mail and packages
Sorts and distributes all mail and packages
Supports deliveries and orders to Embassy and Commissary
Provides clerical and communication assistance to the Parent Teacher Organization as requested
Provides clerical support to Executive Assistant and Registrar/Office Manager
Provides accurate written translation of TIS communications in Russian, Uzbek and Korean
Provides live translation when required at meetings and events
Administers first aid to students for minor injuries
Cover elementary office assistant desk during her lunch break, meetings and absences
Oversees functions of telephone line and systems in coordination with the Chief Guard
Maintains database of important school contacts
Present to support major school events occurring outside office hours as directed
Other duties as delegated by Registrar/Office Manager or Director

Professional requirements Warm and positive manner.
Able to speak and translate English, Korean and Russian languages with previous experience in live and written translation. Ability to speak Uzbek and/or Chinese a plus.
Ability to work in a multicultural diverse environment.
It is expected that the candidate for this position will be a highly qualified language and communication specialist. Characteristics of the ideal person for this position would include:
A university degree in a relevant field
Proven communications experience in complex organizations, preferably in non-profits, educational institutions, and/or international, multilingual organizations
Proven experience to focus on multiple tasks in a busy office environment.
Demonstrate ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive and tactful manner. Adhere to strict confidentiality involving staffing concerns, student matters and internal/external correspondence.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English, Russian, Uzbek and Korean.
Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) and ability to master other technology platforms quickly (iSAMS and Google Suite).
Ability to efficiently complete assigned clerical tasks and communicate at all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with minimal supervision.

Please note the preferred candidate will not only be fluent in written and verbal Korean, but also be able to translate English to Korean for written documents and simultaneous translation in TIS meetings, a demanding expectation.
